 This statement is basically saying that we should improve everyday & do better that before. We shouldn't give up, we keep going & eventually we can achieve our goals.

Allopathic Physician (M.D.)

Duties and responsibilities: Physicians examine patients, obtain medicine histories, perform and interpret diagnostic test, and prescribe and administer treatment for people suffering from injuries and diseases.

Salary:  $150,000 - $300,000 a year

Education:  10 – 15 Years in medical school, High school diploma

Reflection: I don’t think I would want to be a allopathic physician mainly because I don’t like to work with medicine, I don’t like to be pressure to do something & end up making it worse cause it could kill someone.

Duties and Responsibilities:  An allergist / Immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat and manage allergies, asthma and immunologic disorder include primary immunodeficiency disorder.

Salary:  The average salary for an allergist is $247,582 a year.

Education:  4 Years of undergraduate study, Minimum of 3 years medical school & 2 years of allergy and immunology training.

Reflection: I Do not want to be an allergist mainly because you have to be good with science & that is my weakest subject in school.

Acupuncture

Duties and Responsibilities:  They’re methods involve penetration by thin needles or the application of heat, pressure, laser light, moxibustion and Cupping therapy.

Salary: The average salary for a acupuncture is $49,831 - $74,747 yearly.

Education: The acupuncture has to master science & go for training that takes 4 years to complete. Once they’re done the doctor has 2 years to successfully pass an examination by the ABMA to achieve acupuncture certification.

Reflection: I don’t think I would want to be an acupuncture because you need to master science & I’m not good at science. Plus I might get really nervous & when I get nervous, I tend to mess up & that’s not good for the patient.

They treat vision problem and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When necessary they perform eye surgery. Most ophthalmologist are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and other perform research.

Average Salary:  $90,000 - $150,000

Education Requirements:

Only physicians may study to become ophthalmologist. After completing medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency in an approve ophthalmologist program. After completing their residency program they must pass an examination to be certified.

I really don’t think I would become an ophthalmologist, because I’m not very good with science or chemistry.

Psychiatrist 

Duties & Responsibilities: Psychiatrists are physicians who specialize in the problem of mental illness. As physicians, they are licensed to use a wide  variety of treatments and may write prescriptions. Psychiatrists may work for the government, have their own private practice, or work in hospitals, clinics, or universities. Their duties include:

·         Designing treatment programs.

·         Conducting psychotherapy session.

·         Prescribing potent mental illness drugs.

·         Supervising electrotherapy treatment.

·         Conducting research.

·         Leading a team of mental health care providers.

Average Salary: $90,000 - $200,00

 Education Requirements: Bachelors, Masters, Ph.D. Degrees

In addition to completing the requirements for a degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine, psychiatrists must complete an intensive three year residency in psychiatry.

Reflection: I don’t think I would want to be a psychiatrist; I don’t really like helping others with their problems.
